Might as well be disposable.
The description said "Easy-to-open side grills make cleaning a snap". TOTAL LIES! I unscrewed every single screw in the back that I could see, and the plastic doesn't even snap off with force. No way to thoroughly clean the cooling pad/medium, and no way to replace it either. As it stands, this product is good for a single-season-use-only. (Unless you don't care about your health and continue to inhale whatever accumulated in the cooling pad.) If I had known about this fact and this fact alone, I would not have bought it. I wouldn't even take it for free.
Does the manufacturer expects us to purchase a new unit every season?
Regarding the short cord. I'm guessing the power outlet in India is not along the floor, but rather 5 ft. up the wall. Definitely a design oversight for certain target consumers.
