Works better than expected
We ordered this because my 20 y/o son lives in a converted 2 car garage and our home HVAC system does not cool this room because it was not intended to do that. The room is probably somewhere between 400-500 sq ft. I bought a portable swamp cooler that we had to keep filling up with water but it failed to cool the room. This EdgeStar 10K BTU AC does a great job of cooling this big space. I had looked at several different portable ACs but saw where this one could be used with windows where they slide from side to side instead of up and down. Setup was easy and the hose that goes out the window fit easily with the panels provided. They also give you some foam installation to put around the panels/window which was nice. I had to figure out a way to block the window from sliding further as I did not want anyone to break into the house. I was able to find a wooden rod that fit perfectly into the window track and it won't move now. Anyway, my son runs it on about 75 degrees and it quickly...
