Best have some patience and minor mechanical skills
We were hoping to get a single unit to cool our small rental home, rather than putting several in each room. This one eventually did that with the addition of several additional fans, taking it apart to reconnect the pump, clean out debris, reposition the water outlet above the medium and reseal the hose attachment. It also has a nasty chemical smell until water has cycled through the medium for a few days then been dried out and blown through. It is also loud, but that's mostly just the nature of a high-speed rotary fan. Scares the &%&#$! out of the dogs, though. This unit does eventually do what is intended, but it is big enough to just mount outside and use as a standard evap cooler, so we installed it on a rack partially outside a window to mitigate the noise and bulk. It is also overpriced, as the materials and construction are worth about half what we paid. Be patient and get it at a discount if you can.
